Hi, I am getting married this Jan and am considering changing my name before I send in my PR application, but I am applying for my criminal record checks in my current name. I am only double barreling it. So do you think it would be a problem if I changed my name but send in my criminal record checks in my previous name?

You do not have to change your name when you get married (obviously you can), why not wait until your PR is approved?

There's a great discussion about this here.

But I think from what I read, it might be a good idea to change while the PR process is started, changing after you get your PR card can take a long time.
