Hi..myself and my boyfriend are living in scotland (he is irish) and we are moving on aug 31.. we are actually travelling around europe for 2 months and then heading back to ireland for a visit.. i want to change my address with immigration but should i just change it to my home in canada? should he use this address as well?

You'll want to change the mailing addresses for both of you to one where you can arrange for someone to watch your mail for anything coming from CIC. Most documentation you receive from them will be time sensitive . . . you would not want to miss a request for updated documents, or the all important request for his passport so that they can issue his visa. Don't know how long you've been in process, but London can be quite fast to finalize things. You'll want to be able to respond to them quickly.

Is it ok to change your address to a Canadian address if you are visa exempt and here as a visitor? It's not a huge deal to get my mail at my parents' house, but it would be easier to come directly to me :)

yeah, I would think it's fine. We're planning on doing that - changing both my address AND my partner's address to my parents' house in Vancouver, where we'll be staying temporarily. I mean, it's just the contact address. And if for whatever reason, my partner can't get admitted to Canada (unlikely) he's planning on traveling until he is approved, so we'll still have all his CIC mail sent to my parents' house.

Im currently in scotland on a working holiday visa which is up at the end of august.. im able to stay in europe for up to 3 months as a visitor as canadians dont need a visa to visit.. i just wasnt sure if we need to fully change our address as we arent returning to our address in scotland after we travel for those 2 months
