Hi Guys. I'm trying to find out if anyone knows anything about changes to "Implied Status" under "spousal visa". I am currently living in Canada on a work visa which expires in May. I'm hopefully able to stay and work on Implied status but have been hearing and reading conflicting things recently. Can anyone please clarify any of this.

Thanks in Advance!!

Exactly which type of visa are you on? Is it IEC or PGWP?

I am currently on an Australian "Working Holiday Program" (WHP) Visa. I was told earlier that implied status was possible but recently heard that this was being cancelled? Pretty worried cause we just had a child in Canada. Thanks for the help!!

AFAIK, there's been no clear, defined answer to this `looming' question.

Hopefully, it works out to benefit you and your `new' family.

Congratulations!

The general consensus, backed up by reported experiences on this forum, is that there was and still is no implied status as a worker for those on IEC. The risk of being accused of illegal work is yours to consider. Caveat Emptor....
