Hi,

Currently, Im on my PGWP, which is expiring soon. I got accepted into a program starting fall. I've applied for study permit. I was wondering, while waiting for my study permit after my work permit expires, am I on implied status?

Thanks

Hi! Did you ever get an answer to your question? I have the same question and based on my research, since you were applying for a different type of permit you cannot continue to work and the implied status only allows you to remain in Canada until the day a decision is made and you must have stopped working.
But this is just my understanding. I wasn't able to confirm it. It's just my interpretation of the laws.
Thanks!

That is correct. Since you are applying you're changing status from worker to student, you can remain in Canada while your application is processing but you cannot work at all.
