Hello all, I have a situation here that I need advice. I claim asylum as a gay simply because that is my sexual orientation. I have been hiding my sexual orientation because not everyone accepts it, I now find it hard to relate with friends here who are against that, also the church I now go to doesn't promote that. Many reasons resulted in changing my sexual orientation including thoughts of having a family. My question is, as a protected person who is awaiting PR can I apply for EE provided that I qualify and later withdraw my asylum case, I understand it's the same PR process. How best can I navigate this?

You cannot apply through EE. All you can do is wait for PR as a protected person.
You can't navigate this. This is not possible. You need to proceed with obtaining PR through the refugee stream. Due to your status as a protected person, it is impossible for you to apply for PR through any economic immigration stream such as Express Entry.
If you withdraw your refugee claim this will trigger a removal order.
Would also add that you can’t change your sexual orientation and you can have a family as a gay man whether in a couple or single. I’m sorry that you have friends and a church that are not supportive of you being a gay man but there are many other people and churches that will accept you. Obviously a bit harder to have a family if not part of a straight couple but lots of options from adoption to surrogacy so being gay does not prevent you from having a family, getting married, being a parent, etc,
