Hi everyone,

I am new to this forum, I am a permanent resident. I landed in December 2013. But I went back and now living in Quebec since September 2014 as I found a job here. I am concerned about the following issues.

My marital status has been changed after getting my PR card. Should I report that in CIC? What is the web link to update it? I would have to file my husband's sponsor application soon.

Secondly, I am pregnant and I want to apply for my sister’s visitor visa. I need her in February. What are the chances that she may get a family visitor’s visa as my job is new. If I show the bank statement then what amount of money is required in my bank? I have a federal job but on one year term contract. My annual salary is 62,000$. I will support her for all expenses, travelling and staying in Canada etc. My sister is married so she has a strong bonding back in the country. The reason for her visit is helping me in newborn child care during my parental leave period. Is it a sufficient reason?

Any suggestions/guidance will be appreciated.
Thanks

You don't need to inform the CIC specifically. You can simply apply for his PR when you have all the documents ready. Take your time, the only rush is you want him here and/or landed as soon as possible.

To submit a TRV for your sister, we highly recommend using an agency that specializes in that in her home country. They will tell you everything that you need. We were successful in getting our baby's grandmother a TRV (using an agency), but were previously "unsuccessful" in getting one for a sibling (not using an agency), ALSO for your same purpose. So from our experience, "no" that won't be sufficient reason but you should certainly try, (we had already heard that getting a TRV for mother/grandmother is much easier than for a sibling).

Thanks for replying. Its useful. I have no idea of agencies but I am going to check. The problem is that I do not have enough time to try and then resubmit if denied. thanks anyways

To be clear, we did not try, fail, and resubmit for the same applicant. Once denied, there is NO point in resubmitting, they pretty much tell you that in the denial letter. Our two experiences with TRVs were for two different applicants, one being a PRs sister and one her mother.

1.Apply for PR of your husband with complete package. This forum is helpful for proper guidance.
2.Invite your sister for TRV. Professional help for organizing papers, documents might be helpful. Main thing would be your sister's strong ties at her home country.
Good Luck!
