Hi guys,

I got a job offer in another province. What does IRCC look at when someone changes to another province and sponsor his wife from that new province. Is holding a job in that province enough ?

Thank you

Are you in Quebec right now?

Moving provinces doesn't matter unless Quebec is involved.

If you are currently in Quebec and looking to get your spousal sponsorship application processing moved to a different province, you would need to show that you have relocated to that different province and are living there. So basically you want to show that you have a primary residence in the new province and other evidence such as employment, licence and health care, etc.

Essentially cut your ties to Quebec. Working at a job in the new province, lease/home ownership in the new province/outside Quebec, bills/ID with address in the new province, etc. A job offer is not enough to be considered for processing out of Quebec you need to show you have left Quebec.

Yes I am in Quebec I did not apply for sponsorship yet. So I will not close anything to file it again somewhere else. I got a job offer there that I am genuinely interested in and plan to move there.

If you haven't submitted the application yet to sponsor, move out of Quebec first and then submit the application. Some people here have had issues getting an in progress application moved from within Quebec to outside of Quebec even after moving. Best option is to relocate first and then submit the application.
