Hello friends,

I came to this forum after a long gap to seek some information and pick your brains.

What happens if someone fails to inform IRCC about a change in family situation that arised in Feb 2022.

Is it fine to inform them now using the web form?? Or can the IRCC take any action for the delay??

It very much depends on context. If you were already a PR before the change in family situation, and didn't apply / sponsor anyone in the interim, you're not required to inform them at all (at least the scenarios I can think of).

Thanks for your quick revert.

So one of my friend got married in Oct 2021, applied for spousal PR and landed in Canada in Feb 2022 as a PR and divorced in April 2022.
And he didn't inform IRCC about his divorce. So is it ok if he informs now as he wants to apply for his canadian citizenship?

This timeline isn't feasible. You have to be separated for a full year before you can even file for divorce. This would indicate there was misrepresentation and they were already separated before he landed in Canada and became a PR
