Hi all,

Could anybody who has some experience with it give me advice on the following?

I applied after Feb 2008 but before the instruction were issued. I put Financial Analyst NOC 1112 as job title in the job experience section but I could have choosen Auditor NOC 1111 instead. I have evidence that I'm in fact rather an Auditor than a Financial Analyst. The latter isn't useful at all while the first is among the selected 38 occupations...

Is is sensible to point this out in a letter to the visa office now? Or would this be considered as arranging the facts to fit the instructions? Should I better withdraw my application and reapply instead?

Many thanks in advance for your support.

Kind regards,
Beaverthief

first question , which stage is ur application now - i assume its CIO .

which NOC u selected ? was it in the list of 38 occupations.

I think s/he applied under 1112 which is not in the list of 38 jobs.

thanks Rupeshhari,

in this case i believe this application is on way of rejection , its best to withdraw and reapply else it will be rejected and then if its reapplied aagain with changed NOC i am not sure if CIC will agree.

however thsi is my opinion, i would be interested to know what other senior friends think.

Reachmenow,

If I were you I would write a letter to them explaining the situation. You may still get away with it.

Here:
Note: While the Regulations clearly place responsibility on applicants to undertake research of the NOC
and provide the NOC coding for the occupations in which they claim qualifying experience, officers
are expected to exercise discretion where applicants may have made minor errors or omissions in
correlating work experience and NOC coding.

thanks BobbyB, i agreee.. worth a try!!

There is no need to reapply. It will lengthen you procedure. You can do so by sending an e-mail to CIC. I know this because I did the same. Later I sent a hard copy my mail too. CIC responded positively and I got a letter asking me to submit documents in 120 days.

SASIF,

Could you mention which email address u used as i have heard conflicting comments in this forum saying that CIC doesnt check info sent on email which they use to commnucate approvals.

thanks for ur help

Thanks Sasif! Could you possibly tell me which email address you used? I'll definitely try to explain my situation to them.

This what happen to me, first there was no such things as 38 NOC codes so i applied under one of them as it was also my relevant experience, when the 38 NOC codes list came out i realized my NOC code not in the list, so i just drop them letter and told them that i have mistakenly put all my 12 years experience under one NOC code i filled new form and along with my job responsibilities. After few months of wait i get letter asking for all my updated and supporting documents to send to CIC within 120 days. Than i got all my job responsibilities from my company HR as well on their letter head with official seal on it. Now all my documents in the CIC lets see what next. But they consider it and gave me 120 days to send all docs.

Thank you Bluepine! This sounds very promising:)

Did you get the response from email or Hard copy? What is the email address FSW-Centralized-Intake-Office@cic.gc.ca?
