Currently my hubby has been approved as sponsor and i am awaiting to hear something from the Embassy locally. The waiting period for that seems like 6mth-1 year.

My question relates to my job.
Right now, my org. indicated that they did not have the funds to pay contract workers and that funds are being secured. It seems to me that they want to get rid of contract workers. The week before they had called us in and informed that contracts were not necessarily going to be renewed.

So on the form that states to list your history from 18 years. I put 2009-Present Working XYZ Org.

If I get laid off, do I need to inform immigration? Even if i get laid off, it would probably be like September/October and I don't want to tell them. And I don't plan to look for another job. I plan to just move back to my parents home and help them with their business and just wait on the PR

So when that time comes, do I have to tell them? Or lets say I change jobs ...Do you have to tell them?

No, it's not necessary to inform CIC. They really don't care 100% about your work history. I think they ask for it for security reasons to help run background checks more thoroughly.

However, having a job somewhat looks good because you can either use it to show that you are independent or you have funds to bring with you to Canada so you and your hubby can invest it in something of both your choices.

I really don't think it's a biggie for you.

Good luck with the job search and hopefully they don't lay you off before you hear something from POS :D
