Hello,

We initially applied for a TRV for my DAd since my papers are still on process as PR. Now that I am a PR, my dad’s got a Multiple Entry Visa and we are wondering how to change it to Grandparent Supervisa? Also, if he has a Multiple Entry can he stay longer than 5 months?

Thank you!

multiple entry visa means you can enter Canada multiple times but usually around 6 months stay during visit, except you are granted longer stay or apply for visit extension.

visit visa and super visa are different.....your parent may have to apply for super visa....you may check IRCC website for the requirements as the person inviting may meet some conditions.

To apply for a supervisa your father must be in his home country. You will have to prove that you have met LICO and NOA is often required for approval. You can try for an extension of a TRV. Just remember that both TRV and supervisa are still visitor statuses and he is not allowed to live in Canada.
