Change college with different study length duration.Pls help me

Hi all,

Let said i landed with a study permit ( 1 year diploma program), but i want to change to other college at another province and to study a 2 year diploma program. Am i allow to do that ?

What is the procedure that i have to follow in order to change my study permit from a 1 year diploma program to a 2 year program in another school and province too? Let said if i going to land on April, do i have to immediate change it in Canada or i had a grace period of 6 month to change?

Can anyone please advice me

Hi,

1. With a valid study permit in hand, you can change at any time.
2. Fill up IMM 1249 "Application to Change Conditions, Extend My Stay, or Remain in Canada"

Thank you enfield for your replied. Besides fill up IMM 1249 "Application to Change Conditions, Extend My Stay, or Remain in Canada" , do i have any checklist of document to prepare such as bank statement, letter of sponsorship and etc which were needed during the 1st study permit application ?

Thank you very much to enfield for your unconditional support and guidance in helping me with all my question.

Well, can i just stay in canada and not going for any classes or does it help if i go for English program temporarily with my initial study permit (which i gain from my initial application which is a 1 year program) while i am in the process of applying to another college in other province to gain admission on their fall intake ?

I am worry about the gap of time i have till the program start at Fall.

Besides that, if let said i didn't not enroll to the college that in my initial application, does the college will inform cic ? Is that any necessity to let my first college that i apply that i am not going to program and changing to other college? (this is because i am running out of time now, as my first college will definitely rush me to pay them fee soon)

I am confuse now, as my relative is relocating to another province thus i have to relocate my choice of college too.. Please help me in this matter... urgent
