Hi all,

I wanted to get some insight on what my chances are of getting a PGWP if I get married before I graduate.

My girlfriend (not in Canada and not a Canadian citizen/PR) and I (under a student visa), plan on getting married on February next year. When I graduate, would the marriage throw off my chances of getting a PGWP? I’m thinking that because I applied for a student visa while In was single and changed marital status along the way, it would/could throw a red flag.

Any thoughts? Thanks!

1. Marriage has no effect on a PGWP. Note that there is no guarantee that when you marry, your new wife will be admitted to Canada.

If you meet all basic eligibility requirements for PGWP, the chance you get it is basically always 100%...
