hello,

My name is Ashish Bansal and i am from punjab. i applied for jan 2016 intake in centennial college for PG certificate prog for 1 year named 'international bussiness mgt'

here's my profile:

10th (2007)- 75% cbse
12th (2009)- 90% commerce stream, cbse
B.com from delhi university (09-12) - 54%
CA-ipcc both groups in nov 2012
working as an article assistant from april 2013 to oct 2015
IELTS score:7.5 bands [ R-8.5 L-8 S-7 W-7]

I applied for my permit on nov 18 and got a refusal on december 1. reason being the same which many students get that in the light of your past studies the course is not relevant. i dont really understand the reason behind this as my profile clearly shows my interest in business.

Can anyone help me out here.?? where did i go wrong.? was the course selection wrong?
what should be my next step? should re-apply under general by writing a strong covering letter or wait for may intake 2016?

help from you guys would be appreciated alot.

I would suggest you to take some pg accounting course and you must apply under general category.

Thankyou for your reply..so the problem basically was in the course selection.?
What are the chances of getting an approval for the second time if i take a 2 year course.??
And one more thing is about the funds to be shown under general category are they manadatory
As they are not mentioned in the generic checklist.??

I am facing some financial difficulties here, and completing CA and finiding a decent job is still 1-1.5 years away.i cant afford it. And anyways CA finals can be given at international exams centres too so the option is still open

I provided a well written Sop but still it was refused and many other students with a weaker profile got their visas for the same. I just dont get it. May selecting a course for only a year gave a wrong impression.

so i hope u explained this n all to VO in sop

yes i applied for the same course. Many were getting rejected for GBM (2 year @centennial) so my consultant suggested i go for IBM. Hence.

so i hope u explained this n all to VO in sop

Same case happened with me, but mine sop was weak as i took it lightly.

I have ordered my CAIPS Notes and going to defer my offer letter as it is from University for Masters and don't compare your profiles with anyone as you will get demoralized(I'd feel the same) as providing visa depends on VO only.

If university defers my offer letter to May then probably May batch otherwise Sept 2016.
