Hello everyone
Here's a briefing of my past records & present status:
2007 Sep. - when I first landed in Canada as an immigrant.
2009 Feb. - I submitted my sponsorship application. That time I had a contractual office job so got laid-off after our project was completed. Then i applied for EI because I was told I am eligible to claim one, but luckily after three weeks I was able to get my old job back. So to add up, I had worked for the same company for 2 years.
2010 Apr. - before the start of the 3-year project (w/c I am supposed to be part of the 5-person team), I was allowed 2-1/2 months leave from work by the company to go home and visit my mom in the Philippines. 1 wk before my flight back to Canada, my mom had a fall and broke her wrist, so I was forced to resign from my job to take care of her untill she's fully recovered from her injury.. My mom lives by herself, I have 2 other married siblings but doesn't have time to care for her.
2010 Oct. - I returned to Canada. So from 2010 Apr. up to 2010 Oct. - I had been unemployed.
2010 Nov. - when I started to worked again, I worked in a warehouse for 7months and unexpectedly got an offer from my previous employer for a part-time position and so I started to work in the office again last June. My last day at work will be this coming Oct. 4, but I was told for sure they'll gonna call me back again once they get busy.
Now my main concern is.......will my records of employment say 7months being out of work and applying for EI affect my sponsorship application? Is there more chances of getting denied based on these 2 points?
Thank you in advance for any information you can give.
Sincerely yours,
mehmeh
