Hi,

I was employed outside my home country for almost 3 years and I have one original employment letter left from my ex-employer.
I do not want to lose the original letter as I might need it for future use.
However, it is very difficult to contact this employer 5 years after I have left the company and the Country.
Is there a way through which I can submit a photocopy of this letter to the immigration office? Otherwise, any substitute authority can certify a photocopy of it?

Please advise.

well i would suggest to have colour photocopies for it and do it by some fine laser color photocopier. submit the original to CIC if it's necessary and the use the color ones in other places. hope it will work for you.

Hello yoguibrown,

You are not supposed to send original employment letters. Just neat and clean black n white photocopies. And CIC does not ask for certified copies of documents which are in English language.

The only documents required in original are your IELTS TRF, ECA and Police Clearance Certificate.
