Hi all!

Just a quick question: my partner went to get some documents (birth certificate, police background check) translated by a certified translator. The translator gave him 2 stamped and signed "originals" of each documents. Do we still need to send a notary certified copy of the documents, or we could send one of the "originals" and keep the other one for our files?

Thanks!!

Are you sending it electronically? If so, that would be good. No need to have those copies certified.

Hi, no, we are sending our application by mail.

Others might state different, but on our application we sent all original copies to avoid any possible issues.

If you still have an extra original copy then it is safe to just send CIC the other original document.
