Hello and a Happy New Year

Filing from outside Canada and in the process to have certifications of documents .
According to the Guide it says the only people that can certify a doc are:
a judge
a magistrate
a notary public
an officer of a court of justice
a commissioner authorized to administer oaths in the country in which the person is living

Why cant a Lawyer do this? In my country is most common except Notaries for Lawyers to certify legal documents
Would I have an issue if my Lawyer does them?

Thank you

It would be better to certified them by the individuals the canadian government has asked for. You don't want to make things complicated....

Lawyers are Officers of the Court...thats on your list.

In the uk, all solicitors are automatically "commissioners for oaths". It's quite possible that the same applies for "lawyers" in your country of residence.
