Hi Everybody

I graduated this month as a photographer through evening classes at Syntra (Belgium).
I followed for 3 years (6 hours per week in 2 evenings) the education to become a photographer.
I will get a certificate for these 3 years, not a diploma. (As this is not seen as higher education in the normal system (bachelor))

Do you think it is worthwhile to have an evaluation by WES?
My husband is the main applicant. Would this mean extra points in our Express Entry (because you can get more points for 2 diplomas or certificates)? I currently have 1 bachelor that was already evaluated by WES (WES recognised my Bachelor in communication as a Bachelor degree of 4 years).

My college degree has already been evaluated. So this would mean a new evaluation by WES for my photography, which is not a diploma but a certificate...

Thanks in advance

Kind regards

Kimberly

Have you got this certificate from a recognized college/university? If yes, then you can get it evaluated through WES.

Also do you know if any similar certificate or course exists in Canada i.e. what Canadian equivalency you are expecting?

I think I will need to look for 'continuing studies', like e.g langara.ca/continuing-studies/programs-and-courses/programs/photography/index.html?utm_source=Van%20Classes%20%20Jan%202014&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=Learning%20Photography%20Jan%202014

or studycanada.ca/english/ezine_continuing_education_programs_canada.htm

Also I 've checked the website (syntrawest.be/over/wat-is-syntrawest) of Syntra, it says: "The Syntra West courses are officially recognized by the Flemish Community. The diploma or certificate that you receive after the training is certified by Syntra Flanders." I've reached out to Syntra as well, but still had no reply. (due to holidays)

Thank you again for your input!

Check in Wes website whether Syntra or Flemish are listed as recognized. Before applying you may even contact Wes to check if it's recognized.
