Hi Experts,

I want to apply PR under NOC A which requires 7 in all 4 section in CELPIP test.

I have given 2 times CELPIP test. In the first attempt, I got more than 7 in reading, writing & speaking but got 6 in listening and in the second attempt, got more than 7 in listening, reading & writing and 6 in speaking.

I contacted CELPIP authority to check whether we can combine the 2 results but they denied. Then I gave a call to CIC to inquire my eligibility to apply by combining results and they suggested I can still apply combining the 2 scores.

Can you guys share your thought if came across such kind of scenario?

Thanks

I've never heard of anyone combining two language test results and I can't believe
that CIC would accept that. I would recommend calling CIC again and ask another
agent, as this sounds kind of weird to me.
Maybe someone else knows more here?

Neil,

U apply for reevaluation immediately... hope u get better scores...

I am also sure that we cant combine results like that. Did you try for re-evaluation ?

First time I missed applying re-evaluation but second time applied for it, but came with same result (6 in speaking).

My personal suggestion will be - Try for another time. CELPIP is not that hard. You can get it easily.

What do you mean they "denied"? Did they say combining results was not allowed? Or did they just refuse to answer?

Yes there have been several discussions on this topic - although the manual is silent on what happens when you submit multiple language results (and indeed, on what happens when you submit multiple, contradictory pieces of information generally) - I highly doubt they will just cherry-pick the best results from each one. More likely, they will consider only the most recent results, as this is the best indication of what your language skills currently are.

My Advice would be , Give the Test with more preparation if needed . I know its frustrating but that is the choice you are left with.

For sure you can't combine your results .

I don't think you can combine results. You gotta get the pass scores in one go. Are you sure you understood CIC call agent correctly?

CELPIP agent said they can't combine results.

Yes, CIC took some time, discussed probably with their team mates and then answered saying you can still apply writing a letter to CIC.

You can't combine scores. You either get the necessary score in CELPIP or your application will be refused.

If you already working in NOC A, why would you require CELPIP test? It is mentioned that for Manitoba PNP if you are working in NOC O, A or B then you won't need to sit for the test.

Because this is the CEC forum, not the PNP forum, and language tests are mandatory.

To the OP: You can't mix scores from one exam with the scores of the other. You might want to consider trying the IELTS instead of the CELPIP - I expect that most people would find that one is better for them than the other.
