Job Offer........
Pre-Assessed..
Senior members,

I need your help.

My employer is ready to transfer me to Canada on a fixed term say 12 months as a contractual employee and not as a full time permanent employee. But my duties & duration of work will be similar to the full time employment except the type of employment. My doubt is the experience that I will be gaining in Canada over the next few years will be considered for Canadian Experience Class? I have a valid Canadian open work permit.

CIC says "You have at least 12 months of full-time (or an equal amount in part-time) in an occupation at the NOC 0, A or B level in Canada in the three years before you apply"

So I believe contract job should be eligible for CEC but you have to show number of hours worked during this period (around 2000 hours in a year ~ 260*7.5).

I second that.

Thank you very much for your quick response :)

Could you also please clarify the following:

Is contractual employment will come under full time category? I am sorry if I am asking a silly question.
If the term is less than 12 months and later if it is renewed on continuous employment basis then CIC will accept it as CEC?

As far as I know you need to get that work experience in a certain time period, but I highly recommend to double check it on the CIC homepage. Good Luck to You!

Thank you. But CIC has not provided enough information in their website pertaining to my case :(

Yes as long as the job is in NOC O,A,B and you are working more than 30hours per week. It does not need to be permanent.
