Hello, folks

I have a question about Express Entry, CEC work experience requirements.
It is going to be very simple, I guess.

I have 8months of full time experience now.
And the next 4months, I will be working 2part time jobs with hours exceeding 30hours/week.

In this case, could my work experience be counted as 1year in total?

Your answers will be appreciated.
Thank you very much!

Yes, that's one year.

Edit: assuming of course they are all skilled jobs (NOC 0, A or B).

Thank you very much for your answer.

Here's one more question. It seems like CIC count work experience by hours.

Then, let's assume, I worked 40hours/week for 10months(43weeks).
By hours, it is going to be 1720hours.

In this case, does this count as 1 year also? Seems like so...
My employment letter will show when exactly I started the job, and when I ended,
which is counted 10month by monthly calendar.

I wonder how this works, hmm...
Cheers folks.

You do not count hours when working full-time. If you wish to claim a year of work experience then you must work for 52 weeks on a full-time basis.

So from your example the answer is no, that is not a year of employment.

Thank you very much for your answer.

No, that is only true if you work part-time (fewer than 30 hours per week), which by defintion will take longer than one year to complete.

No, IRCC explicitly states that you cannot "reduce" the one year requirement by counting "extra" hours.

My employment letter will show when exactly I started the job, and when I ended,
which is counted 10month by monthly calendar.
Then that counts as 10 months, less than one year.

I wonder how this works, hmm...
No need to wonder, you can read the legislation ("Ministerial Instructions") on the IRCC website. Granted it is not always easy to understand, but the requirements are there if you really want to know.
