Congrats dear.

Thank you!

When did you have medicals ? do we need to submit with initial application or they send forms ?

No no... just follow the instructions in the application guide! Medicals are only valid for one year, and must be valid at the time of landing... if you do it too soon, they will expire and you'll just have wasted your money.

CIC will tell you when to do the medicals... That used to be after initial assessment, but more recently, they have been giving instruction about medicals with the AOR... which has been about 4 after they receive your complete application.

Thanks Jes_ ON.
And if you have any idea if there is any specific IELTS score depending on each NOC.From where it could be checked what is the IELTS score requirement for my NOC.Any link ?

Hi - if you read your instruction guide, it lists the IELTS scores required depending on NOC skill level (O, A, or B).

Academic IELTS is not accepted. Unfortunately, you must take the General.

Hey Jes_ON

First of all congrats on your PPT request.

Are you planning to mail you passport to New York office or as I have heard you can go in person there and get the visa stamped in your passport, which is even faster

did you pay the RPRF yet??

I have heard of people doing this for Buffalo or Detroit, but not NYC, and the CIC-NY website is pretty emphatic about not accepting passports in person (I realize they all say that, tho). In any case, it is sufficiently costly for me to travel to NYC to discourage me from trying that (Buffalo or Detroit would have been much closer). I sent my passport via Fedex.

Sent with the passport.

hi to everyone,

i need to know what's the next step... pls...

applied: jul 14, 2010
AOR: dec 7, 2010
file transfer: apr 5, 2011

i received an email from immigration when they transfered my papers to new york VO saying, "pls don't request for your status within 90 days." so from apr 5th, it means july 5th would be the 90th day. i haven't heard anything yet, do i have to email the new york VO and ask for status, or do i have to wait for their update? i need my passport to be renewed for my work permit renewal. so i'm hesitant to renew my passport that will take 2 months or just wait for the VO update. i need some advise plss...

just received a medical request from immigration today!

hi everyone!

i just received medical request from VO July 29 (dated July 20). hopefully in 2 months, my application will be finalized.. thanks to everyone for sharing your ideas..
