Hi,

I went to my country for 3 weeks, but it was not on vacation. I was working for them from my home country. I had to go because of my Urgent issue.
So my question is that, 3 weeks will be counted under my CEC class ?.

I was not on Vacation and I was getting paid for those 3 weeks.

No, that time will not count. You just need to work an extra 3 weeks in Canada before you are eligible.

why will that not be counted?? since he was fully paid ...i have heard even fully paid vacations are counted

because the OP is talking about the CEC class, and it was work outside of Canada. Paid vacation is not excluded (up to 2-3 weeks), but work outside of Canada is.

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/tools/perm/econ/cec/work.asp

An allowance for normal vacation time during a period of qualifying work experience cannot be used as a substitute or proxy for meeting the in-Canada element of the work experience requirement (i.e., work experience obtained outside Canada will not be considered as though the applicant had been on a period of vacation in order to be counted as part of the period of in-Canada work experience).

So if the person is making business visits on the employers behalf outside Canada that period wont be counted?? did i understood you correctly?

I am screwed, even after calculating paid vacation days, I am short of 2 weeks for 1 year of experience for CEC. My workpermit also got over, Now i am on visitor visa. So dream for me in Canada is over.

i would say dont loose hope...atleast apply...hope for the best then.... may be you explain your scenario to them

Ya, but i guess even if we are short for one day they reject application. I am short of 2 weeks. Anyways I pray for u guys. I hope u all eligible people get through PR. :)

dude dont panic. u will be fine.u will have your paystub showing that you were getting paid. They even count 2 weeks of vacation(no matter where you go) as long as its paid. And in your case you were working for your Canadian company and also getting paid. CIC wont deny you.

Thanks guys for support. I will try to apply and will also add supporting letter to explain scenario. It is just so unjust to 1 year PGWP holder that they don't even cant go to their home country for few days. I was even getting paid when i left Canada for 3 weeks because i was working from my country. At-last I can say it is Canada Immigration rule and We have to follow it.

Yes, All I can do is to wait for draw. I have one more hope as My company has applied PNP prescreening for me, I just pray result for that be positive and it comes up soon :)

I agree with the recommendations, apply anyway -

That seems to be the current interpretation, yes.
