Hi everyone,

I'm applying for the CEC with the following qualifications:

An undergrad degree from a Canadian university (4 yrs) and one full year of work experience that falls under the "skilled work experience." The work being Type 0, Type A, or Type B.

I was a Receptionist/Administrative Assistant at a law firm for 7 months. On my pay stub my title shows as "Administrative Assistant" only. The Noc Code for Administrative Assistants is 1241. I was pormoted to a Legal Assistant position after my 7 months at the same firm. This is my current position. The Noc Code for Legal Assistant is 1242. The NOC Code for both positions are under Type B. I have reached my one year of work experience today.

I have two questions.

First, can my "Receptionist/Administrative Assistant" be counted as fully Administrative Assistant? (NOC 1241) Will it hurt my chances of satisfying the criterias for applying?

Second, am I able to combind my two titiles, Receptionist/Administrative Assistant (7 months) and Legal Assistant (5 months) that are both skill Type B to make up one year of experience to apply for my PR? Do I need two seperate employment letters for the two positions?

Thank you for your help!

"Receptionist/administrative assistant" also falls under NOC 1411(skill level C), so your main duties and responsibilities are more important to help establish your NOC code as 1241. The employment letter should be detailed. Include copies of any training certificates, diplomas, etc obtained as part of your job.

Yes, you can combine experience obtained from both positions. Make sure you have accrued 1950hrs and worked for at least 12 months. Yes, separate employment letters for each position.
Thank you for your help!
