CEC-Language points

[CEC-2013]

HI,

I am applying under CEC.. I would like to know how points system works for this category.

Also, I am confused by reading some previous discussions about IELTS score eligblity.
My score is R 6.0 W 5.5 S 6.5 L 6.0 Overall 6.0

Some members have mentioned this is eligible for CEC, but I want to be sure.

Please help me.

It depends on what skilled level you are planning to apply under. If your job is under skilled level NOC 0 or A, your IELTS scores would not be eligible because NOC 0 or A requires atleast a "6" in all four categories. If you are applying under skilled level B, your scores are eligible for it.

So, find out what skilled level your position is (NOC 0, A, or B) and you can go from there

I guess as per my work permit my NOC code will be 2173 or 2174 (skill Level A).

So I guess I need to re-write my IELTS exam to get another .5 score for my writing exam.

Is it OK to submit the application with the current result? Later, I will re-write the IELTS exam and send CIC my new new results.

You must submit the language proficiency test results with your application. There is no relaxation of this rule by CIC
