Hi, I'm from Montreal. I came to Canada as International student to do Masters degree, and now I have graduated last month and I have permanent job in one the Montreal based companies. Now I'm working under the open work permit which is valid for 3 years. So moving forward, I want to apply for PR in Canada and I know applying CSQ/PEQ in Quebec and then getting PR is such a pain in the ass.

So I would like to know, when I complete one year of my current job; will I be eligible to apply PR under Canadian Experience Class category? Will my quebec experience be considered for CEC?

I'm new to this forum and I will be glad if somebody gives a glance about this doubt.

Thank you!

You can apply. The trick will be convincing CIC that you plan to live outside of the province of Quebec. Proving that you plan to live outside of Quebec is one of the eligibility criteria for CEC.

Given you have a permanent job in Quebec, I think it's going to be complicate to demonstrate that you plan to live elsewhere.

Does your company have locations outside of Quebec? Can they transfer you there? Or can you find another job located outside of Quebec? You should do one of these things before you apply.

Ya, I understand the constraints. Well in my case, I can only convince them by saying that I will get job outside of Quebec for sure. But I guess it's not going to be easy to convince them, so I should better go for CSQ option. Provided that I have enough time for learning french + have Master's degree + a job offer, so I can fit into CSQ criteria very well.

Thanks for your quick response.!!
