I submitted my PR application and I received my E-AOR today. We applied as an accompanying common-law. (2 of us in same PR application)

My partner and I are working under post-graduate work permit now and it is about to expire. I am not too sure how to apply for BOWP since I am the principal applicant and she is dependent.

Do I need to apply BOWP in same application or we can apply separately ?

Anyone applied before and success? Thanks

Only the Principal Applicant is eligible to apply for a BOWP. Spouses are eligible for a spouse open work permit, based on your BOWP. They are two separate applications, but you can submit them together - if you do the online application, it will walk you through the joint submission. You need to include a copy of the AOR.

Thank you. So it means I am the principle applicants and i will apply BOWP, my spouse will get her own open work permit based on my BOWP.
We can apply at the same time provide the same AOR.

If you have a minute, could you take a look if i answer the CIC question correctly? We are both PGWP holder and work in Canada now.

Almost.

You have to answer the questions from your perspective as Principal Applicant, so NO, you are not accompanying a spouse. (Your spouse is accompanying you). If you are "accompanying a spouse", you are not eligible for the BOWP. So you first have to fill it out as the PA. When you change that answer, at the end of your questionnaire, you will be asked if you want to submit an application for a family member too. That is where you fill it in from your wife's (accompanying / dependent) perspective.
