Hello Forum,

I'm applying for my CEC/PR. I am also including my wife in the application. I'm a Italian Citizen, and she's from the Philippines.

I have already gathered my police checks and reports and translated them to be included in the application.

My wife is sending me over her birth and marriage certificate, both of which were approved by her foreign ministry for use by Canadian Immigration Officials.

My question is, do the police checks also have to be certified by her foreign ministry before being used in a CEC/visa application?

Thank you and have a good day.

Hi

Below is the link to the CIC page for Police Certificates from the Philippines

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/security/police-cert/asia-pacific/philippines.asp

If you are applying locally in the Philippines then it looks like the only requirement is that “The certificate must have a thumbprint and include a dry seal”.

As long as the certificate is issued by the National Bureau of Investigations and it meets the criteria laid out by CIC there should be no additional legalization etc.

Thanks

A
