I applied for CEC(Canadian Experience Class) in October 2013. I got my confirmation e-mail that my application was found eligible and complete in December 2013.

I am currently in Canada working with a work permit, and my occupation is under NOC B. I attempted applying for an Open work permit but it was denied – I was later informed that the email I received did not count as a verification for my Permanent Residency application; odd but let’s keep going I thought.

I am wondering since my work VISA will expire in September 2014, what is the next step? My PR is not going to be processed before my VISA expires. Can I renew my current visa by myself or shall I proceed with issuing another LMO and going through the whole process again ; even if I will only need that extension for a few months tops.

1. Probably the reason that you were refused, is that you can't apply for Bridging open WP if your present work permit is valid for more than 4 months.
2. Once you have the AOR you can apply for a BOWP sometime in May/14.
