I heard about this on the radio this morning, this is the article that accompanies it.

Let me know your thoughts...for me, I am afraid CIC will get even slower...that is my fear for true marriages, the process is long enough already!

ooops...yesterday I tried to post a link but was not allowed....so what was wrong?

Anyway: my long story..my immigration road...and my 2 cent are as follows:

Immigration (with all the negatives and loophole ) is still the most booming industry in Canada. They created the loopholes and kept it there because it has been feeding the industry. Canada is only 35 millions. Count with me how many Immigration lawyers, immigration consultants etc etc in Canada and outside Canada?. Any of those white collar consultants and lawyers would really come to work hard in OIL SAND, as I do? Of course any big industry, any booming business must create some sort of havocs and dust around the table. The ex husband of my wife, was a Cnd citizen and educated. Apparently, he was not breaking the law (supeficially) when he got married and brought the lady and her young daughter around here. From the first week, they both became his slavery capture. He exposed the innocent little daughter to a constant trauma. He abused her innocence. They had to escape to a shelter because they did not have a ticket to flee back home. This is the marriage fraud (in my opinion). Why on earth my marriage could be suspected? I am working in Sand OIL, paying tax, raising good family.....what is wrong in that?

Another example: As they, in purpose, created loopholes in Immigration system, or call it immigration industry, they did the same in real estate business. They created laws and scams so that real estate lawyers and agents can survive and scam new comers. In the civilized world (or let us say in the pretence of being civilized world) have you ever heard of a law saying "Buyer Be aware). Why can't they call it the right name (Buyers be aware we are planning to deceive you and scam you). This is a long story guys.

Good day

Keep cheerful....keep optimistic thoughhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

BTW

Funny enough, I was not allowed to send the post when I clicked on post. I got a red warning saying : Sorry, you are not allowed to post links. I reoved it thu it was not mine but quote

Any of you red the comments below the article? It was really interesting to see how many thinks that we- family class are usually uneducated, unemployed, on welfare, ect therefore useless to Canada. I don`t think...I met mostly well-educated, experienced, successful people here. This can be very misleading- the immigration law might make us unemployed while we are waiting but that doesn`t mean we are not like skilled immigrants. Stories like these creates us a `bad` reputation. Sadly...

Best of luck canadin, let us know how it goes.

As for the article, as a Canadian living abroad going through the immigration process, the policies are a double edged sword. I really can't wait to be able to get back home and start my family and resume my life there. But on the other hand, I am willing to wait longer if it means that fewer people who abused the immigration system will be admitted. Canada's social services infrastructure is falling apart and any added burden needs to be mitigated as far as I am concerned and if it means I have to wait longer to protect my country then I will do so gladly.

Hi guys!

My hubby said that the interview went great and we got the Visa :D He said the process was very professional and not nasty in any way. But I just put that down to his brilliance :) So we have another 2 weeks of being apart and that's it!

Six months!!! That is horrendous. Maybe with some of the changes they seem to be making they will even out some of the processing times. I hope so for your sake. It is so difficult to be apart from your loved one :(

CIC has posted a survey for people to complete about marriages of convenience and what people think the government should do about it. I completed the survey and made it known that I don't think that honest people should not have to pay for the crimes of those who are not. Keeping legitimate couples apart longer than necessary will only cause more hardship and create prejudice against people who genuinely married for love rather than a business deal. Make your opinions known on the survey if you want your thoughts taken into consideration. Whether or not it makes a difference remains to be seen!
