Hello all,
I'm so glad to came across this forum as I'm lost and feel clueless abt my Canadian PR application. I'm Indonesian, and our Visa Office in Singapore takes ages to respond to questions. So I was wondering if anyone could help me here.

I know my qualifications is not really relevant as what required. I'm aiming to go under 8222 Supervisors- Oil and Gas Drilling & Service but my current work is EHS Coordinator, mostly work in office but often times go to offshore too (category 2263 Inspectors in Public & Environmental Health and Occ Health Safety). It is a long shot I know, but:

1) Is it worth it if I decided to go ahead w/ the application? Although not 100% working offshore, but I do travel often times to offshores to implements EHS programs. I see my case as rather grey area under the above 2 categories.
2) If eventually rejected, would CIC office make me under "Black List" register for "trying" in the first place?
3) Is there any penalty before I can re-submit another application in case I wanna try again in the future? For example, 1 year time penalty, there's no 2nd try whatsoever, etc?

Appreciate for any input from all the Gurus here, as I'm very clueless. Thanks in advance :)

Hi,

Question 1: You should qualify this requirement:

Work experience minimum requirements

If your application is eligible for processing it will then be assessed against minimum requirements.

Your work experience must be:

for at least one year, continuous, and paid (full-time or the equivalent in part-time), AND
Skill Type 0 (managerial occupations) or Skill Level A (professional occupations) or B (technical occupations and skilled trades) on the Canadian National Occupational Classification (NOC) list.

2. There is no 'Black listing' for rejected applicants.

3. There is no fine or penalty for re-applying. Every time you re-apply, you have to start from the beginning and pay the processing fees as specified, time to time.

Please note that you can submit applications to any of the Canada Immigration Streams explained in the CIC website, if you meet the relevant requirements. Don't worry about that.

Hi, much appreciate for your response.

I do have over 4 years of work experience in oil and gas company, so I fulfill this requirement. And I also have Skill Level A (means have university degree, right?) so this one's also checked.

However, the Eligible Occupation list rather confuses me. My work experience is 25% under NOC 8222 (which is under mandatory Eligible Occupation list) and 75% under NOC 2263 (which is not under mandatory Eligible Occupation list). Should I go ahead with the application and try my luck? Or do you think it's not worth it?

Thanks for your input.

You can't apply under NOC which is not part of the list.
