Guys, what will happen if I carry cash more than 10k and I declare at customs or immigration officers.

Do I need to pay tax from my money or is it that my money will be ceased?

Would I be facing any troubles?

Please any genuine advice considering present situation is appreciated.

Are you landing as a PR? Or simply visiting?

If you're landing as a PR, you don't have to pay tax or worry about it being seized - you simply need to declare it. It can be any amount, even millions of dollars (obviously not recommended to travel with that much cash)

If you are just visiting, then a very large sum of money can raise suspicions and you can be asked about the source of funds. If you are visiting for a month and you bring along 12K, that's reasonable. But if you try and enter with 200K for a week's visit, be prepared to be grilled by CBSA.
