Hello,
I'm a long time lurker and first time poster. I have occasionally looked at Canadavisa.com to get some info on the timeline but the immigration stream that I'm applying under was not well represented since it is sort of a niche way to get your PR. So I decided to post my timeline to help you guys that are considering to apply under the Caregivers HMN pathway. FYI this HMN pathway will expire at the end of next year so if you haven't got the required 2 year work experience by then, you can't apply.
Here's a bit of my background.
I'm a nurse in Ontario (RPN) and studied at a Canadian college. I have been working 2-3 part time jobs but have always worked full time hours as a nurse. Because of my credentials I didn't have any hard time proving I meet the eligibility.
I'm a single applicant. I don't have any dependent. I'm from a developed country. I wonder if you're from certain countries your process can get delayed due to background checks.
Here's my timeline (2018):
CIC application delivered Sep 20
CIC application returned Oct 4 *Be super thorough on your background declaration form)
CIC application delivered (received) Oct 11
Coupled my paper app to electronic one/ background check processing Oct 22
Request letter (original police check)/ background check processing Oct 23
Letter delivered Oct 26
Reviewing additional document Oct 29
Application/profile updated (no actual change) Nov 16
Permanent residence authorized Nov 19
CIC office interview scheduled Dec 3 (Interview on Dec 17)
So I'm just waiting to sit at the interview to get my PR. I hope this timeline will help you guys. Overall it is a two month process. I'm lucky it only took around two month instead of 6 months posted on CIC website. This timeline is based on a single applicant so expect delays if you have dependents and other conditions.
