Dear members - I have around 14 years of IT experience. Last year, April 2016, I decided to take a break to try my hand in independent consulting (when I had 13 years exp). I couldn't earn enough during this time and after much thought (10 months later) decided to join another job in Mar 2017.

I got my invitation in April and now when I apply how should I factor in the past 1 year?

Also I'm just 2 months in my current organization. Will this impact my approval?

Thanks in advance for your inputs.

Well I am assuming you got the ITA because of your 14 years of It experience. So you really only need to prove that experience.

It is totally OK to be working as a consultant or even be unemployed for one year or several years. You just mention it under "personal history" section.

In the "Employment" section you should only mention the IT job that got you your CRS score. You will need to provide an employment letter to prove that you held that job.
