Car Import Question: Auto Lights same as daytime runners?

Hey, stupid question.

Anyone in Ontario that imported a US car with Auto lights as an option, did they consider those good enough as day time runners?

Also does Ontario require fog lights on all cars?

Just want to know what direction to take once our car is paid off, if it's worth the modifications and importing or just selling and buying a new car once we arrive.

Depends on the car. My Germany made for US Mercedes GLK was re-programmed by Canadian Mercedes dealer for ~$300 to satisfy RIV. The side effect is that the temperature on the panel is in Celsius.
