I have registered for the Winter 2022 session, but due to some Study Permit delays, I had to defer my admission to the Fall 2022 session. And in the CAQ policy, they say that if I defer from the Winter session to the Fall session, I will have to reapply for a new CAQ. I have done that, and I have been refused although the last time I applied for my CAQ I got their acceptance. I will be flying to Montreal in 3 weeks, and I think I cannot change my new CAQ situation in such a short time. So I wonder if I can use my old CAQ (the one I got for my Winter 2022 session, which will be expired in 2025)? Will the officers at the airport not let me in?

Thank you so so much for your kind responses <3

Do you have a study permit for your program or is it a short program? Or a TRV? You will need to show CAQ and then enrollement in the program. Why are you entering so early for a Fall program?

I have received my visa (study permit). I will attend a short French course before my school starts in Fall.
And I wonder if I can show them my old CAQ (the CAQ that I received for the winter session). And then I will give them my letter of admission for both my French course and my enrollment at my university.

But what document are you entering canada with because your study permit is tied to your program and not the short course? Your old CAQ, I think, would be invalid. Your study permit is based on a program you aren’t registered in so you could be denied entry. Also you are asked to only come 4 weeks before the start of class. Do you have an ETA or TRV to enter and take the short course.

Actually my study permit has been given to me based on my Winter 2022 session admission. And I don’t know if I have to tell IRCC about my deferral to the Fall 2022 session or not.

I don’t have ETA or TRV for my short course because I think I will enter Canada with my CAQ and Study Permit.

Do you think that my CAQ will be invalid? It appears on my CAQ that it will be expired by December 31 2025. So do you think they will ask me questions about my deferral?

And should I apply for TRV for my short course?

Thank you so so much for your help <3

One more question: When I arrive in Canada this July, can I show them my CAQ and Study Permit and just the LOA of my short course?
