Hi,
I have been requested to submit my PCC in the next 60 days, but i am travelling in 3 weeks time for 3 weeks, tickets are booked.
i dont think I will get my passport back from PCC because its a christmas vacation period in between

Can you please advise? Can i get extension from CIC?

Which country do you need to get Pcc from?

No extension given by CIC

You were supposed to attach them to your application, and if not, hand them over when requested.

If you want PR, I would consider your booked vacation as a secondary priority. You could have known that this was coming, but still decided not to get the PCC until they asked for it. Being a bit more pro-active doesn't hurt.

As far as I know they do not give extensions, unless in specific cases (I believe Hong Kong is such a case) where it takes 30 days to get the PCC and people were requested to submit the documents within 30 days.

You're actually very lucky that you get 60 days. I've seen people that only get 30 days. Maybe that's a new policy.

Anyway, why is 60 days not enough?

Get your priorities straight. You can try to get in contact with the CIC and get an extension, but don't get your hopes up on that. Don't expect any sympathy for your booked holiday 8)

Hi,

NOt sure which country you need to get the PCC. But for India the passport is retained in the local office and for any reason if you want the passport back you can go to them and submit a letter and collect it right away.

If this is possible in the country you are applying please apply and hope for the best. If there is a delay you can still get back your passport.

I dont know anything about the CIC part of this, if they will provide you more time or not.

Good Luck.

Looks like he/she from India only 8)

If you are from India and are going to your home town, just get the PCC from India (you will get it on the same day) and once you are back, submit the PCC through Xpress Post.

Problem solved.

Good luck.
