Hello All,
my PR application was selected in fast track last year and things having been moving really fast, to this extent that i filed my application in Dec-2010 and Got my Passport Request yesterday.

But here comes the complicated part,
i am on a Work Permit, and i am getting married next month in India.

1> I am not comfortable submitting my passport to the CIC, as any delay(more than 4 weeks) on their part will not allow me to travel to India, which i cant afford to miss at any cost.
2> I heard in most cases Passports are received in 3-4 weeks, if i do that i will become a Permanent resident, and processing PR for my wife will take 6 months. Where filing a dependant visa will take 4-6 weeks.

Suggestions will be appreciated.

Thanks

Brijesh

Well you are between a rock and a hard place.
I would recommend to get advice at the VO.

Goto India. Submmit Passport and collect it there itself.

Even if the VO delay in sending PP....u can get married.

BTW...NDVO wont send PP out of INDIA. And you too cant send PP out of the place where you reside.

I saw few threads in which members discussed regarding INDIAN PP sending outside theplace of residence. Plz find out.

And moreover..if your wife apply for dependent Visa she has to mention your details...then VO will come to know about you Immigration Status.

It's better you go INDIA...submmit Passport to NDVO...get married...collect your Visa..apply for your Spouse Visa.

Hello,
i have been working in Canada for around 18 months.

My job profile is more of a Java developer(NOC Code : 2714).

Just wanted to check if with the new Immigration rule,
this NOC will work fine to apply in FSW Category for my 1.5 years of experience in Canada.

Or should i wait for 2 years and apply under CEC.

Thanks

Hi ,

I submitted my application for FSW and on the application I have mentioned the prefered center for visa process to be in sydney(canada).
I currently live in UK. Does that mean i had to mention the visa center to be London and not canada...

oh few of those qstns were on behalf of my friend in london. Its been a long time, almost forgot about it. Wish there was a delete button...

Ok, yeah tricky times.
What are the process timelines for sponsoring a spouse on Canadian PR. I heard they have tightened the process, and may take 6 months.
Where as sponsoring a spouse on work permit will take 4-6 weeks.

Thanks for the advise

Oh....so there were actually two sets of questions ...one for u and other for your friend? ??? ??? I really wish u had made it clear in your post so that members do get confused and panic and waste time on irrelevant questions. ;)

Yes, laws for sponsoring spouse is being tightened by CIC.

IMPORTANT : Sponsored spouses must be in relationships for two years The proposal is now open for public inputs.
