I was wondering how I would go about cancelling our application. we want to go and work and travel abroad for the next 1.5 years, and maybe apply again or apply to the US! I cant believe all that work ends like this! but we both want to be working, together and living a "normal" life, and we've both been approved to work in New Zealand for 1 year.

I also want to make sure that im not doing anything wrong by cancelling, when we extended his visitors visa last September, we put in the application that we were prepping and sending in his application for PR, his extension is until December 31st 2014, would he still be allowed to stay in Canada or would he have to leave?

also would I receive any money back or is that lost.

thanks for any advice!

Here is the link for information: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/helpcentre/answer.asp?q=732&t=14&_ga=1.177516645.1572798406.1407776156

I think he is allowed to stay until the end of his extension, I don't think it gets revoked.

Good luck!

The fees will be refunded only if we have not started processing your application.

You will need to contact the office responsible for processing your application to request to withdraw your application. They will advise you whether you are eligible for a refund based on where your application is in the process. Contact information for the office processing your application can be found on the correspondence that you received from us.

As long as the Visa hasn't been issued yet and PPR wasn't approved then you will receive all monies back except the 75.00 fee for the sponsorship application.

There is no requirement to be in Canada while an outland app processes. Just let the app continue to process while you go to NZ.

He can stay until his extension expires.

yeah I guess I could let it run...the only reason why I thought that wouldn't be a good idea is because I thought it would look bad if it got to the point where they asked for an interview or more documentation or proof that I wouldn't be able to attend, or supply and cancelled it at that point that it would look bad like I was trying to hide something.
