Hi,

I'm working on a PGWP since Jan 2020 in Canada, I applied EE in Feb 2021. I have a overall score that meets the minimum, but why my Canadian work experience scores 0? And it says I don't have a valid offer. I got my offer in Dec 2020. It is a permanent position. Could anyone help? Thank you!

Check out this link to see the requirements for a valid job offer. It must have a Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA) or be exempt from one.

For a PGWP, the LMIA is mandatory to claim the 50 points. Exemption doesn't apply.

You can only claim the 50 points through an LMIA exempt work permit if it is a closed work permit tied to a specific employer (e.g. ICT) and you've worked for that employer on that work permit for a full year. OP is on a PGWP which is an open work permit, so no dice.

Not getting job offer points is accurate. As explained above, you need an approved LMIA to claim the job offer points.

In terms of not getting points for your Canadian work experience, you must have selected a wrong option which is why you're not getting these points. Can you tell us what you have selected for work experience? Is all of your Canadian work experience in a NOC A, B or 0 role? Do you have at least 52 separate weeks where you worked at least 30 hours?

1. You don’t have a certificate of qualification. That is for trades only.

I have a friend, he has Canadian work experience score and the only difference is he has worked under co-op work permit before graduation. Now he is in the same company as me under PGWP, but he started this job in Aug 2020.

So sad. So it is impossible to claim the 50 points within a few months. Thank you!

Is this the only mistake I have?

I think you must have other mistakes. Can you show us how your work experience is broken out?

Hi, finally I found out my BIG MISTAKE in my Canadian work experience. I checked 'ARE YOU STUDYING FULLTIME WHEN YOU ARE DOING THIS JOB...'. Such a silly mistake. Now I got 40 points on this. Thank you all for the timely help!
