Hi all my wife and I started a visa application for me to join her in Canada back in May 2018 via Mississauga. Everything was going well as I thought. I got my medical request in August and I got another email saying my app is now with the London office. Then the pre-arrival email suggesting for to register to see what I can expect and and government help I can get. Which I did and had a very lengthy conversation and it was very interesting.

Then mid December I got an email asking for my 22 year old sons medical and police report. I replied back to them saying my son is not accompanying me and never want to move to Canada. Then they replied saying it was an error on their side and they should of requested months ago, then they asked for it again. Then I got an email from the Mississauga office asking for the same thing.

I did ask my son and said I’ll pay for it all and he refused saying he will not be ruled or ordered to do anything from a foreign government it’s bad enough being ordered by the British government.

I emailed the London office letting them now I can force him to do anything as he’s 22 and has his own house and he’s not interested at all. The London office replied back stating under Canadian law he was a minor at the time of application (I submitted the app 4 weeks before his birthday). I did try get my son to change his mind but he didn’t. I sent another email to the London and gave them his name address and phone number. They then replied and said it’s now with the immigration officer and they will contact me for more info if needed.

My question is will this ruin my chance of moving to Canada to be with my wife?

As long as they have proof that your son realizes he can never be sponsored to go to Canada you will likely have your application processed. You and your wife must have had children very early to still qualify for immigration with a 22 year old son.

I don’t have proof I gave the visa office him name and address and phone number, I’m not sure what else I can give. Yes it was a case of kids having kids I was young when I can kids
