Canadian spousal interview gone wrong.

Hello everyone,

I'm sad, distraught and honestly confused.

My Wife had an interview with the Canadian Embassy in Lebanon. They asked for additional proof of relationship as well as more financial proof.

I brought her my bank account with savings of over $20,000. I am an online freelance video editor.

We also brought 100+ pages of pictures, texts & call logs.

I went down with my wife & waited outside, she came out crying.

The interviewer was extremely stubborn & rude, she saw a picture with the ring in my wife's left hand but insited on saying it was her right hand! It was a damn selfie and refuses to acknowledge that selfies are flipped when taken!!! She even had a watch on which is obviously her left!! It got me extremely angry!

She also fails to realize how money can come from online work which further angered me. When my wife tried to explain everything she told me she wasn't listening & kept typing on her computer..

I'm upset, sad and very heart broken.

Please, any advices on what to do next?

As my wife was crying she asked if she was convinced and she simply shrugged her shoulders.. She told us nothing at the end of the interview except body gestures that were very negative

You don't understand how bad it went, they didn't even take the texts or calls, only the pictures.. She was even upset that my wife didn't have a personal lebanese bank account & we only had our joint lebanese bank account. Everything she said didn't make sense

She even looked through the wedding pictures and said "all I see is pictures of you & people" my wife didn't know what to say, what did the interviewer want?

She also had another lebanese women with her, they kept talking between one another. They didn't bother addressing concerns with my wife

For example:
Her passport says single, but it was made before our marriage and instead of asking my wife for her to explain they talked between one another till they figured it out on their own & were unhappy they didn't "catch" anything

I feel numb because it feels unjust, and this girl who simply didn't understand a flipped selfie ruined lives just in the snap of a finger

They thought I was still in school even after seeing my graduate certificate..

I'm staying with my wife no matter what, but I'm split from my brother, sister, mom & dad, friends and all family.. Man I feel broken (sorry for the rant)

Welcome to the reality of the beirut VO we are many waiting now.

They asked us for financial proof that we bring and we bring more pictures and log chat, they didn’t take anything from my husband, they just look at it

Your wife will receive a little at the end of the week with there decision, don’t loose hope

I hope the officer are not all stupid like this one, because me too I send a selfie photo and because the flip, the ring look like in the right hand :/

I hope nothing like this happens to anyone, ever. No one deserves this. It's been 10 hours since and my wife is a mess, and so am I. Mom's crying because she needs me and we have no emotional support here in Lebanon

It depends on the phone. On my Samsung S9+ the selfies come out the correct way round. If the IO has a "correct" phone, one could understand the problem.

If my wife is ask for interview, she will bring a cell phone to give an example with Snapchat in case they ask about that photo

She still should have listened, my wife even said "please search it on Google" if she did that she would have confirmed the issue
