I sent in my sponsorship application to sponsor my husband living in United States in November 2015 and they started working on it January 2016 in May they asked us to pay the right of permanent residence fee and then a week later the online status system changed from "In Process" to "Decision has been made". However there is no indication of what decision has been. I did notice it stated they will send us a letter. My question is do you think this is a good sign the fact that they asked us to pay the fee and then made a decision a week later? I want to be excited but its hard and the wait is killing me. Will they send this letter to my husband in the US or to me in Canada? and do you know how long it would take to get this letter is there a standard time they follow to provide this decision. Please just give me your honest opinion even if its not a good one. Thank You your assistance is greatly appreciated. :) :) :)

hi,
If there was no interview and they asked for the RPRF, then it's a positive decision. the letter they sent is the Confirmation of Permanent Resident (COPR) document your husband will need for landing. This will be mailed through regular mail to the address your husband used in his application. Depending on where it was mailed to, it can take 1-3 weeks to get it. it will be in a brown envelope.

Yes, I would say it's a good sign. You should expect your Confirmation of Permanent Residence in the mail within the next few weeks. I'm waiting on mine as well from Ottawa.

It will be sent to you in the U.S. A couple people in the U.S. recently have received it in about ~10 days.
