Hello

I am non Canadian living in Canada and applied for Canadian PR. I was single before applied but now I got married. I applied for marriage certificate when I last visited India but the certificate issued late when I came back from India. Moreover, the certificate does not shows the date on which I applied for but just shows the date of issue everywhere.
My PR application is in process, I have got my application number, medicals done, RPRF fees is now deposited.

I have got Email stating (Has your family composition or personal circumstance changed since our last correspondence?) along with RPRF fees.

I am confused whether should I update my marital status by sending marriage certificate as I was not in my country on that date that is being shown on the certificate ?

Thanks in advance !

Whenever there is change in personal circumstances, the person needs to inform cic about the change. The marriage certificate should show when you got married.

Here is the link for the web form:

Yes, you must inform them of your marriage and you must add your spouse to your application. Failure to do that will result in an invalid visa based on the outdated information that you are single when you are no longer single. You can under no circumstances use such a visa to land as a PR in Canada because it is considered misrepresentation if you do. If they don't find out, you can live in Canada as a PR yourself but you can never sponsor your spouse as they would see that you got married before you got your PR and did not include her. If they did find out, your PR would be revoked due to misrepresentation and you'd be sent home.
