Canadian Police Certificate Confusion

Hello all,

I appreciate this forum as it helped me alot during my PR process. The only thing left I want to learn is that in the upload webpage of PR it asks Police Certificate but it doesn't specify which country it is. I have lived 18-23 in Turkey and 23-26 in Canada. So, I have Turkish Police certificate but do I need Canadian too as I have stayed more than 6 months?

I would appreciate if you could help.

"You don’t need to give us police certificates for any period of time before you were 18 years old or for time spent in Canada."

Thank you for your quick reply. This is the only thing that made the confusion. so they don't ever ask even rarely?

This is by request only. It can happen during a background check, for example when your name matches the name of someone with a criminal history. In that case, they will ask you to go the RCMP and get your fingerprints taken to verify that you are a different person.

It is not something to be done upfront.

Oh I see, my name cannot match even in the world I am pretty sure Thank you then, it saved me at least 10 days+$63.

I appreciated, I don't think that info you gave can easily be acquired
