Hi there,

My Dad is visiting me from South Africa and has a Canadian Multi-entry visa.

He's visiting my brother and I at the moment and is traveling up and down between Portland US and Vancouver Canada. He arrived in Vancouver in June and stayed with me for a month then went down to my brother in Portland (July) then came back up to stay with me (Sept) and has recently gone back down to Portland (Oct). He is scheduled to come back up to Vancouver end of November for my wedding.

June - Arrived in Canada - got a Canadian entry stamp
July - went down to US - got a U.S. Entry stamp
Sept - came back up to Canada on the Amtrak train - did not get a Canadian entry stamp
Oct - went down to US - got a U.S. Entry stamp

I'm hoping someone can answer a question for us - he received Canadian entry stamps in his passport when he arrived in Canada and then US entry stamps both times when he went down to the U.S. but didn't receive a Canadian stamp we he came back up to see me in Sept.
Will he have an issue returning to Canada from not having the Canadian entry stamp when he came up in September? He has the U.S. entry passport stamps to prove that he left Canada in July and Oct ....I.e. within the 6month window. So can prove he left the country twice in the past 4months.

He's supposed to come up to Vancouver in December to be at my wedding so I need to make sure he can get into Canada ok. He's coming back up to Vancouver at the end of November and due to return home, South Africa, in December.

Really appreciate any help/insight/guidance!

Not a problem. Passports are stamped on CBSA officer discretion when travelling between the USA and Canada.

Each stamp "resets" his stay in Canada, and the CBSA officer decided his stay shouldn't "reset". That's it.

Make sure he carries proper documentation that backs up his back and forth from the USA to Canada if the CBSA officer requires it when re-entering in November.
