Hi All

I have a question about supporting written evidence for english ability. In CIC, they said that

"If you choose not to take an approved language test, you must prove your ability to speak, listen, read and write Canada’s official languages through other written evidence. You must provide written proof and an explanation that clearly shows you meet the benchmark criteria listed in the Canadian Language Benchmarks in each of the four skills."

Are anyone familiar with the Canadian Language Benchmarks? How can we do it for ourselves?

Thank you.

Hi Hellovn,
check www.language.ca, especially "can-do" checklists and "global performance descriptors" in the CLB 2000 booklet.(This publication is available for free download there). If you are writing a letter justifying your proficiency, you should mention activites that correspond to the CLB level you want to show (i.e. writing an academic term paper would require CLB level 9-10).
If you need to take a CLB-based test (CLBA), it is completely another matter.
