Canadian girl wants Mexican guy to visit, HELP PLEASE!

I must start by saying that I never knew coming to Canada could be so complicated especially from a country with which we have a Free Trade Agreement. I met my boyfriend a couple of months ago, and have been to Mexico to see him twice already. This winter, I would like for him to be the one to come and visit me either with a visitor's Visa, or even a temporary work Visa.

I know he has the funds, but the problem we will have is that he does not have a University education, and I don't think his ties to his country are super strong (he has a job there, a car, and some family members - but no house, and no kids). What is the best way to go about applying, and what are our chances of being approved. If we hire a firm, will this help our chances? From what I read, I guess it is also a bad idea if I am the one to write his letter of invitation?

I have a stable job, with a good income and a stellar background as a Canadian citizen. I cannot believe it is so difficult to have someone come and visit. Marriage is out of the question for right now, so please HELP!

I was once in a similar situation to that which you find yourself in now. Before my wife and I were married and applying for permanent residence she visited me as a visitor and she also was "visiting" me before we submitted our application for permanent residence.

The first time she came up needing a visa she planned a complete trip as a tourist, even had a hotel reservation. Once she got here she cancelled the hotel reservation (we had to pay one night for late cancellation). She was working full time at the time and had a lease in Mexico. She had a return ticket. I think we she was able to get a fake reservation that we was able to finalize once the visa was issued. There was nothing in the application that showed a connection to Canada.

The second time she applied and again got it. She was working full time and said that she is coming to Canada to visit my family that were not able to make our wedding in Mexico. I provided her with letter that showed I would be taking full responsibility for her financially, and that also I added a bank statement that showed i had sufficient funds for the time that she was going to be here.

As for a work permit I have no idea. I would recommend doing it the first way that I mentioned there is less that you need to prove in terms of your boyfriend going back to Mexico. Also once he gets here you can apply to extend his visa. As long as you do it a day before the expiry you will have implied confirmation of a visa renewal. It has taken over two months and we still have not heard back on her visa renewal. We know one person it took four months for CIC to get back to them about a visa renewal.

Bank statements to show the funds (a couple of months), a letter from his employer saying that he is employed from when and expected to return to work on xxxx day, a lease agreement with his name (if not, say staying with his family, a letter from them), return tickets.

I am not familiar with temporary work permit.

Lawyers and consultant do not necessarily increase the chance of approval.
