I am a student and I thought Canadian Experience Class would help me to get PR before I graduate, so that I will have no hurdles in getting a full time job. But this doesn't seem to be the case.

For international students, to apply through this CEC program they need to have an year of full time experience after graduation. If I had one year full time experience after my graduation, I wont have problems in applying through normal Skilled Worked category.

Let me just explain it by an example. Assume Adam did a 4 year degree in Canada and was able to find a job after graduation and has been working for an year now. He will have the following points to apply under Skilled worked category.

Education 20(BSc in Canada)
Language Ability 16(Assuming full proficiency in Canada)
Work Experience 15(Between 1-2 yrs in Canada)
Age 10(Between 21-49)
Arranged Employment 10(He is working now)
Adaptability 10(4 yr education in Canada)

Total Score 81

Well above 67...Isn't it? Then I don't know how CIC is going to help Canada-educated people stay in Canada by this CEC program. I don't get it! This to me looks like an eyewash.

Adam loses his job after a year because he complains too much about Canada and his boss catches him on the Internet all the time.

Now he has no arranged employment and only 1 year of experience, but fortunately, extra points for adaptability.

But under the CEC program you have less documents to show . No letter of employers over the past 10 years for instance and that is a real pain in the neck, trust me. I've been waiting on one for 3 months!

A friend of ours has been trying for more than a year to get a reference letter complete with job duties. It is completely unfair of the employer and amazing that their reluctance to provide one could mean refusal of a visa. I hope yours comes along soon. Good Luck!

I just realized that this thread began back in 2008. This is the second one I've read today that must come come out of mothballs! Is someone here "sleepless in Seattle" dredging up old threads, LOL? We've gotta getta life!!
